Case Study: From CV Help → Interview → Job
This is a typical Bytees-style journey (details anonymised). It shows how digital confidence can translate into real outcomes.
Week 1: Confidence + email setup
“Sam” hadn’t used email much and felt anxious about online forms. In the first session we:
- Set up or recovered an email account
- Practised sending an email and attaching a document
- Organised logins safely (simple system + 2-step where possible)
Week 2: CV writing (step-by-step)
We created a clear CV using a simple structure:
2–3 lines: reliable, motivated, what role you want.
Bullet points matched to the job advert.
Short achievements using “did + result”.
Email, online forms, Teams/Zoom, scanning photos.
We also saved the CV to the phone and cloud, and practised downloading/uploading it.
Week 3: Job search + applying online
- Found suitable roles (local sites + company websites)
- Practised filling in an application form without panic
- Created a basic cover message (copy/paste template)
- Learned how to spot scam job ads
Week 4: Interview invite + preparation
- Checked email for the invite and responded confidently
- Practised interview questions using the job description
- Did a short “STAR” practice (Situation, Task, Action, Result)
- For online interviews: practised Teams/Zoom joining and muting
Outcome: Interview → job offer
Sam attended the interview, followed up by email, and received a job offer. The biggest change wasn’t “being good at computers”—it was feeling calm enough to complete steps independently.
